AET were delighted to have Peter Hopper (a legal cashier from Leigh Day & Co Solicitors) run for AET in the Virgin London Marathon on April 17th. As if the challenge of running 26 miles wasn't enough, Peter decided to run as 'Nelly' the elephant - (his local rugby club mascot) to ramp up the challenge in the hope that people would dig deep and give generously.
Peter did so well on what turned out to be a very warm day for the marathon runners. When AET staff spotted him on route, he looked to be enjoying himself and taking it all in his stride - costume and all.
Peter commented "I felt like a celebrity all day. I didn't go more than a couple of minutes without someone shouting 'Nelly'".
To date, Peter has raised over £3,000 for AET. 25% of total money raised will go to the Leigh Day sponsored project which helps AIDS orphans in the Dol Dol community in Kenya.
A special thanks goes out to him and his supporters.
